DC Cycles Racing
Report by Sean Jordan Well, I'm proud to announce that
DC-Cycles weekend at Summit Point was a
resounding success! I managed to finish rebuilding my
bike on Saturday, (and
managed to do it correctly!), so I was able to race 3
races today. I was
running very consistent lap times, and got faster each
race. Laura Granato
broke in her new Aprilia RS250 this week, and will be
attending the Keith
Code Superbike school this week. (I believe it's this
week....anywho...)
Brian Roach took a third place in Middleweight Sportsman
on Saturday, and is
quickly making a name for himself in the Expert ranks, as
he did in the
Novice ranks last year.
On a more serious note, fellow DC-Cycles list-member
Danny Thompson had a
rather bad crash going into turn 10, which is a very fast
corner. (Danny is a
very fast rider, so this was probably something like
80-90 mph...Roach, some
expert testimony from another fast racer?) Anywho, last
we heard, he was
transported to the hospital and was conscious and lucid.
Unfortunately, he
was conscious and lucid with some broken ribs. If you
have ever raced,
ridden, or even talked to Danny, you know he's as great a
person as he is a
racer. We'll be pulling for him to have a speedy
recovery. I don't know if
he's home or still at the hospital, but if I hear
anything more, I'll post to
the list.
Thanks to Niv, Larry, Steve and Jay for riding out and
supporting DC-Cycles
Racing. They helped out in the pits and made sure we
didn't let any beer go
to waste. (Just kidding.) Howard (Koontz?, sorry) was
corner working the
whole weekend and for that he is greatly appreciated.
I'd also like to thank Linda Tanner for loaning me her
trailer, and Brian for
loaning/giving me a slew of parts to rebuild my bike. I
couldn't do this
without you guys.
I also got A LOT of pictures and video, so if Laura and
Mike are listening,
let me know if there's any room on the server for some
new stuff!
I hope those of you who didn't come out at least got out
and rode your bikes
today; it was beautiful riding weather!
